YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This policy explains, in plain language, what information Shortlyonline.com ("Shortly", "we", "the site") collects when you use our link-shortening, event-planning and merchant marketplace services, and what we do with it. By using the site you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

  • Account details. When you create an account we collect the details you enter on the sign-up form: your name, email address, date of birth, phone number, and city, state and country. Your password is stored only in hashed form — we never store it in plain text and cannot see it.
  • Google sign-in. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google sends us your name and email address so we can create and sign you in to your account. We never receive your Google password.
  • Content you create. The short links you make, events you organise, RSVPs and invitation responses you submit, merchant profiles and product listings you publish, and items you "like" on the site.
  • Basic usage information. Simple counters such as how many times a short link was clicked and a total visitor count, used to operate and improve the service.

How we use your information

We use the information above only to operate the service: to sign you in and keep your account secure, to display the links, events and listings you create, to let event guests respond to invitations, to show merchant contact details where a merchant has chosen to publish them, and to respond when you contact us. We do not use your personal information for anything unrelated to running this site.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie: a signed session cookie that keeps you signed in while you use the site. It does not track you across other websites. Advertising cookies set by Google are described below.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can manage or opt out of personalised advertising in your Google Ad Settings, and learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com.

Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to run the site (such as cloud hosting and email delivery), and only as much as they need to do their job, or when we are required to by law. Content you publish on public pages — for example public events and merchant listings — is visible to other visitors by design.

Your choices

You can update your phone number, city, state and country at any time on your profile page. If you would like us to delete your account and its associated personal information, contact us through the contact page and we will take care of it.

Who can use the site

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
